I had some upgraded halogen ones on my TD6 that just fitted in....but the heat melted through the plastic lens eventually.

It’s a tight fit. The group buy LED ones are fine if there are any left.

A word of warning to you and others who have later cars with AGM batteries... the voltage of the car is 14.7 not 14.1 and this is too much for the those LED's Whistle I know, fitted them to a 2011 car and watched them go up in smoke, literally Shocked To get around this problem we installed some 12v regulator chips in the lights too (and some new LED panels Sad ) , and they didn't even get warm Very Happy

Can you tell me more about these regulator chips? how they are installed etc. I have a 2011 car with AGM battery, link to maplin obviously not available now they shut up shop so not sure what to be looking for. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

What wattage are the LED's ? Assuming theyre under 18w look for a 7812 regulator OR a 2.7v zener diode either will do it, the zener diode potentially easier install. BMW i3 Electric Car

Either circuit will do it, the 7812 choose one rated at 1.5amps or more, for the zener diode, choose the voltage and it will reduce the incoming voltage by that amount eg a 2.7v zener diode with 14.8v coming into it, the output will be 14.8 - 2.7 = 12.1v. You may not be able to get the exact voltage you want eg they may be 2.0, 2.7, 3.3 etc. BMW i3 Electric Car

Thanks AJ. I guess the 7812 would be the better option. Not had a look at the wiring yet but do you know if it would it be one 7812 chip per light unit or just the one on the loom? 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I have another reverse lamp version build

its like near original

So slowly I'm working
The back lights on it, my problem: at night that is not very nice and the dark rear window looks good during the day, at night shortages had the Rückfahrwarner schonmal gepippstmal, because a black car is parked on the other side of the street, ok, was a little fast Cool
Now it should be lighter!

Cree LED

but since the LEDs are too long for our lamp, I have unceremoniously extended the socket

just the right plastic tube to extend, found in the electrical box.

The plastic is welded to the soldering pistons, ready to go and the first test in half dimming

Fellas, stop messing around with cob panel conversions and fiddling with bulbs that are too long.
The bulbs that I specced and Bushy30 now sells are a straight fit and also brighter than the cob panels.
They are a no brainer. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

I'd agree with Grofus. His/Bushy's replacement bulbs are perfect. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
