hi stan, i had thought of that but im concerned i wouldent be eble to stop ,on in the neighbours gravel drive and and the drive runs about another 40metres with a big ditch at the bottom. not having any air in the system, i dont know if i would be able to stop it. especially as the hand break is not that great

could be a problem then and maybe doing that might not help...it does sound like fuel starvation though.. ... - .- -.

hi stan, well i have managed to roll it down onto level ground, but it still wont start. can you advise how i can test if the fuel pump has failed as suggested as a possible problem. i have just had the fbh working so im not out of fuel, and obviously is not the same pump as the one for the engine. is there a picture anywhere showing the pump and its location

hi mate, thanks for the picture. is the main pump accessed under the spare wheel?, also i have had a look under the bonnet and just to the right on the engine nearer to the front than the rear is what looks like a pump/filter type of thing, which is sitting in a upright position, along with several tubes, a couple of which are clear. these seem to be full of diesel with no air blocks, but there is also a small plastic sort of bowl which is also connected to the other piece via a tube but that is empty is this anything to do with the fuel system is is it something else. perhaps it would be better to post a picture from under the bonnet.

Looks like the access panels are more under the rear seat, forward of the spare wheel well............

hi mate, thanks for the pictures. looking at the fuel filter pics, the little plastic bowl,( just to the bottom left of the main filter ), about the size of a cotton reel on your pics looks like it has a little filter in it and has fuel inside it ? is that correct, ie is it another filter for the fuel

It is a breather and nothing to do with fuel

wow, that high pressure fuel pump looks expensive but i guess at this time i dont really know what is the problem. what doesent make sense to me is that there is fuel in the clear plastic tubes, and would have thought if the pump had packed up, the pipes would have been empty , but perhaps it dont work like that
