Probably the fuel pump. Happened to me when I had a TD6, just went without any warning when I tried to start after a short run. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

could you roll down off the drive so the range is more on a flat....then try to start it again. ... - .- -.

hi stan, i had thought of that but im concerned i wouldent be eble to stop Whistle Whistle ,on in the neighbours gravel drive and and the drive runs about another 40metres with a big ditch at the bottom. not having any air in the system, i dont know if i would be able to stop it. especially as the hand break is not that great Whistle

hi stan, well i have managed to roll it down onto level ground, but it still wont start. can you advise how i can test if the fuel pump has failed Question as suggested as a possible problem. i have just had the fbh working so im not out of fuel, and obviously is not the same pump as the one for the engine. is there a picture anywhere showing the pump and its location Question

hi mate, thanks for the picture. is the main pump accessed under the spare wheel?, also i have had a look under the bonnet and just to the right on the engine nearer to the front than the rear is what looks like a pump/filter type of thing, which is sitting in a upright position, along with several tubes, a couple of which are clear. these seem to be full of diesel with no air blocks, but there is also a small plastic sort of bowl which is also connected to the other piece via a tube but that is empty Question is this anything to do with the fuel system is is it something else. perhaps it would be better to post a picture from under the bonnet.

anyway as the car is in access mode, i expect this will stop me from getting at the secondary pump to have a look, do you think Question Question

Looks like the access panels are more under the rear seat, forward of the spare wheel well............

Is this thread any use for the underbonnet pipes, or are you in a different area ?

hi mate, thanks for the pictures. looking at the fuel filter pics, the little plastic bowl,( just to the bottom left of the main filter ), about the size of a cotton reel Question on your pics looks like it has a little filter in it and has fuel inside it Question ? is that correct, ie is it another filter for the fuel Question

the reason i ask is although the see trough pipes have fuel in , my little plastic thing is actually empty Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation , and wonder if that puts anymore light on the issue as to my problem.

It is a breather and nothing to do with fuel

Your problem is the fuel pump under the vehicle not the one in the fuel tank. See my previous post

wow, that high pressure fuel pump looks expensive Big Cry Big Cry but i guess at this time i dont really know what is the problem. Question what doesent make sense to me is that there is fuel in the clear plastic tubes, and would have thought if the pump had packed up, the pipes would have been empty Question , but perhaps it dont work like that Exclamation Exclamation

can you suggest a process of elimination, like i guess firstly removing the inlet to the filter and crank over to see if fuel is reaching the filter in the first place Question , but if not where should i go from there Censored Censored Censored
