| I think it's worth checking everything behind the liners for corrosion, but particularly the electrical ground points in the front wheel arches. |

How long should it run?
I believe it should run for 30 minutes. Unless another condition stops it early, such as low battery or low fuel. |

The only alternative to repair is to replace the whole blower housing which entails dismantling pretty much the whole dash.

It (the moving part) is the air recirculation flap. The car should move it, but it's also surprisingly easy to move manually.
The pollen filter is the black part by your thumb in the first picture. |

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the brake fluid level sensor is just a float switch in the cap, so perhaps it's that float or its contacts that are failing somehow.
