UPDATE.
Changed the crank sensor and bingo the V8 springs into life.

| There appears to be no power to the dash apart from the mileage display. I'm now thinking a fuseible link (no 2) may have blown as this appears to power everthing that has stopped working. |

Yes have tried that, have also now checked fuses in E-box.
Car locks/unlocks interior lights work but no power to dash although key turns in ignition. |
