However on a serious note, this is getting to be a regular occurrence - I know that the FSR is always pointed to as the culprit but is there any way of checking or should I just change it anyway  Geoff

In the first instance I would be inclined to fully charge the battery, disconnect the earth terminal from the battery overnight and check the voltage on the battery next day.
At least then you have eliminated / found a battery fault.

Then the fun begins.

Make sure your sat nav is shutting down, ive unplugged mine and my battery drain issue has been resolved. 04 Vogue 4.4LPG.
