The folks I got it from are out of England - and the years don't include that... but I think it would be fine.
The big thing is the lever depresses a plunger when in Drive that turns on the unit.

But I have to say that the AdBlue bottles with the self sealing valve are the bomb!
No Drips, no Mess and the cap unscrews so you can reuse the bottle.

Does it raise / lower the spinny knob?

I wouldn't think so - the L405 Spinny knob also raises and lowers, and the Silver pin 3 is absent.

AA chap said my battery is healthy but told me my alternator was playing up based on his tests.
Might also explain the intermittent HDC fault/service light that pops up 20% of the time .
