Dan, I tried this with my remote, got no change in the led's, even during the summer remote started the FBH. I have heard people saying that their remotes' LED flashes during the cycle, but mine comes on only with the press of the 'ON' button.
Also, my car doesn't have a park ventilation option on the screen (MY08 TDV8) so I wonder if the systems and capabilities are slightly different based on year of manufacture?

The systems changed after the ford take over, just to the newer handsets I believe?

What does your WSM say? I only have RAVE to hand...

good - because that is something different from a summer and winter mode.

as i said, above 15 degrees ambient, it will operate in venting mode.
below 15 degrees, in heating mode.
really cold...pre-heating the engine.

so on that chilly summer morning and you want the car heated....you use the FBH funnily enough.
Not..."oh sugar, I cannot heat my car rremotely this morning because I set the FBH for summer mode".

I repeat.
There is no such thing as summer and winter mode on the FBH.

The mode is set on the handset, as per the instructions. You can change the mode by holding down speciffic buttons.

sounds like a heating and venting mode to me.

Not able to check in a workshop manual as I can't find one online for a >2006 model, but looking through the car manuals it seems that there is no need/ability to set the remote on the later model cars, depending on the ambient external temperature the system will choose the appropriate cycle.

I've got a 2007 TDV8.

Leaving aside the fact that it's broke I've got nothing in my manual that I can see that allows the distinguishing between heat / vent mode, or summer/winter, or anything else for that matter. It's on or not on.

Press the remote "ON" button it comes on and you get a green light. Press "OFF" and it goes off, you get a red light. Graham

No mention in the manual of winter and summer modes, is there?

Dan says there is however mention in the webasto manual of winter and summer modes - so I invited him to post it here.

Now if you really want to know about the distinction between heating and ventillation carry on reading...you might learn something.
In the centre of the heating and ventillation console, there is a knob with "AUTO" on it in the middle.
There are two LEDs........a circular one above the AUTO, and a bar below the AUTO. When the FBH is operating and heating the vehicle, the upper LED will flash. In ventillation only mode, the lower bar will flash.
Now that isn't in the owner's manual.....but that is what happens. Have a look sometime.

BTW....still ROFLMAO.
Maybe I don't know just a little more than you...perhaps it is a lot more. No offence meant of course.

For someone so clever as you Rambles, it really does surprise me that you still haven't managed to work out that Land Rover didn't manufacture a 2011 4.4 V8 (i.e. Petrol) Vogue SE as per your car profile.

You really have studied this FBH well and I am very grateful for your information but I didn't think yours actually worked...?
