Dan, I tried this with my remote, got no change in the led's, even during the summer remote started the FBH. I have heard people saying that their remotes' LED flashes during the cycle, but mine comes on only with the press of the 'ON' button.
Also, my car doesn't have a park ventilation option on the screen (MY08 TDV8) so I wonder if the systems and capabilities are slightly different based on year of manufacture?

FBH works fine BTW

The systems changed after the ford take over, just to the newer handsets I believe?

What does your WSM say? I only have RAVE to hand...

so Dan, you agree there is a heating mode, and venting mode?

good - because that is something different from a summer and winter mode.

as i said, above 15 degrees ambient, it will operate in venting mode.
below 15 degrees, in heating mode.
really cold...pre-heating the engine.

so on that chilly summer morning and you want the car heated....you use the FBH funnily enough.
Not..."oh sugar, I cannot heat my car rremotely this morning because I set the FBH for summer mode".

I repeat.
There is no such thing as summer and winter mode on the FBH.

The mode is set on the handset, as per the instructions. You can change the mode by holding down speciffic buttons.

does it work with the timer.
do all the other heating controls work.
have you checked any relevant fuses.

you could try dis-connecting the battery and see if that re-boots something..

Does the same when using timer, heating controls all work accordingly.

Not sure what fuses to check...what other potential problems could there be? Range Rover SC 35th Anniversary 2006

so that's settled then

the modes are heating and venting
nothing whatsoever to do with summer and winter modes

Other than whats listed in the Webasto Technical manual.

This conversation bores me now. Think what you like - either listen to what I have to say or dont.

That's the last I'll say on the matter.

Dan

"MODE
To display the current mode, press and hold the [ON] and [OFF] buttons at the same time.

If the LED shows RED the appliance is in heating mode
If the LED shows GREEN the appliance is in ventilation mode"

sounds like a heating and venting mode to me.

why not post a page from the webasto manual?

johnson 1 - correct, my FBH is suffering from battery problems. But, and no offence, it doesn't stop me from knowing a little more than you. Laughing ROFLMAO

Land Rover 11MY Version 2 Owner's Manual Page 61

Quote:
The system provides a comfortable temperature inside the cabin in advance of driver and passengers entering. Dependent on the external ambient temperature, the system will automatically choose to draw in fresh air to cool the cabin, or to operate the optional auxiliary heater to warm it.
The auxiliary heater is also operated to warm the engine and aid starting in very cold conditions.

Page 63:

Quote:
The remote control LED indicates various states and conditions as follows:
• Illuminates green for two seconds when the ON button is pressed, to indicate that programme operation has been requested. It will then flash every two seconds while the programme is active.
Illuminates red for two seconds when the OFF button is pressed, to indicate that the programme has stopped.
• Flashes green or red for two seconds when the on or off buttons are pressed, to indicate that the signal was not received.
• An orange LED at any time indicates that the remote battery power is low and should be replaced.

No mention of heating or ventilation mode distinction from the LED in Land Rover's manual, Rambles.

Thanks Dan Thumbs Up

Not able to check in a workshop manual as I can't find one online for a >2006 model, but looking through the car manuals it seems that there is no need/ability to set the remote on the later model cars, depending on the ambient external temperature the system will choose the appropriate cycle.

I've got a 2007 TDV8.

Leaving aside the fact that it's broke Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry I've got nothing in my manual that I can see that allows the distinguishing between heat / vent mode, or summer/winter, or anything else for that matter. It's on or not on.

Press the remote "ON" button it comes on and you get a green light. Press "OFF" and it goes off, you get a red light. Graham

I was quoting from Dan's post - have a look.

Your quote from the manual is saying what I am saying. Thank you.

that above a certain temperature the system will vent - 15 degrees
below that it will heat the cabin
if really really cold, it will pre-heat the engine.

i.e. there are two modes of operation...a heating mode and a venting mode.

Don't you just love it when you are trying to prove someone wrong, and you post something from the manual which backs up EXACTLY what he has been saying? Laughing

No mention in the manual of winter and summer modes, is there?

Dan says there is however mention in the webasto manual of winter and summer modes - so I invited him to post it here.

Now if you really want to know about the distinction between heating and ventillation carry on reading...you might learn something.
In the centre of the heating and ventillation console, there is a knob with "AUTO" on it in the middle.
There are two LEDs........a circular one above the AUTO, and a bar below the AUTO. When the FBH is operating and heating the vehicle, the upper LED will flash. In ventillation only mode, the lower bar will flash.
Now that isn't in the owner's manual.....but that is what happens. Have a look sometime.

BTW....still ROFLMAO. Laughing
Maybe I don't know just a little more than you...perhaps it is a lot more. Laughing No offence meant of course.

simon1233 has it right. And as I stated.....and as johnson1 quoted from the manual. Depending on the ambient temperature.......

All clear now? Very Happy

For someone so clever as you Rambles, it really does surprise me that you still haven't managed to work out that Land Rover didn't manufacture a 2011 4.4 V8 (i.e. Petrol) Vogue SE as per your car profile.

You really have studied this FBH well and I am very grateful for your information but I didn't think yours actually worked...?
