Lol sounds fun in the freelander. Yes I was told it was a seal around the boot but I can't help think they are just finding a job to do without really knowing. Time will tell. My 2002 TD6 had this problem. I traced the water ingress coming in from the bottom left hand corner of the boot where there are holes in the panel at the rear.(Too dark for photos but will try tomorrow.) I have stuffed a water absorbing rag in the hole for the time being but am looking at putting a lip in place to stop water dripping down into the well. I think it may be the rear wash wipe as it doesn't come out of the wiper onto the screen. |

I've just noticed that I've got some of the dreaded water ingress - I have just been out looking and it appears to be coming in from the same place as you refer to - the bottom left hand corner of the boot around the area of the big bolts for the rear bumper.......I can't really see exactly how it's getting in though. Dried it off and then washed the car - no obvious signs of water when hosing. I then took the car for a drive and came back and checked again - traces of water right at the back of the boot in the double skinned panel and a trickle from there into the tyre well.

There is a gasket between the bumper and the bodywork where the bolts go through, it might be leaking there |

Dolphinboy, thanks for the pics, that is exactly the same as my issue - coming in through that hole.
