Hi,
To let you know the problem with ours apparently was a seal between the body panels on the under side? We are picking up tomorrow where they will give a little more info, can't wait, had a freelander as a courtesy car, kept rubbing shoulders with the mrs, and to top it it off it kept stopping at traffic lights!!

Lol sounds fun in the freelander. Yes I was told it was a seal around the boot but I can't help think they are just finding a job to do without really knowing. Time will tell. Keep us posted Range Rover 4.4 V8 Autobiography

My 2002 TD6 had this problem. I traced the water ingress coming in from the bottom left hand corner of the boot where there are holes in the panel at the rear.(Too dark for photos but will try tomorrow.) I have stuffed a water absorbing rag in the hole for the time being but am looking at putting a lip in place to stop water dripping down into the well. I think it may be the rear wash wipe as it doesn't come out of the wiper onto the screen.

I've just noticed that I've got some of the dreaded water ingress - I have just been out looking and it appears to be coming in from the same place as you refer to - the bottom left hand corner of the boot around the area of the big bolts for the rear bumper.......I can't really see exactly how it's getting in though. Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Dried it off and then washed the car - no obvious signs of water when hosing. I then took the car for a drive and came back and checked again - traces of water right at the back of the boot in the double skinned panel and a trickle from there into the tyre well.

Really can't see how its getting in.

The rear boot seal looks a bit bumpy round the edges at the bottom left hand corner - don't think it's that though. It looks like the only other place could be the rear bumper brackets ?

I'm stumped....HATE water getting into the car - anyone any other ideas ? Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

There is a gasket between the bumper and the bodywork where the bolts go through, it might be leaking there

Well I reckon its either the bumper brackets or the boot seal.........funny how it has just started leaking...... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Here are some pics of where the water is coming in - the bottom left hand corner of the boot.

I laid tissue paper all over the boot and this was the only area which got wet. I keep a rag or big wad of absorbent paper in the lowest hole to stop any water but it needs to be kept an eye on and changed from time to time. Haven't been able to find where it is coming in from adn to do that will need to get the rear bumper off I reckon.

It also comes down through the little raised bits of the rear of the body so I put lots of underseal along the whole of the back adn it has sopped it so it now only comes through the far left hole (looking into the boot to the front)

Hi
Picked up the car today, from the crappy information they blamed it on a badly fitted gromett from the tow bar- total @##$ as it was the guy fitting the tow bar who pointed out that there was water ingress in the boot. I have asked the manager to call me Monday , lets see what he can come up with. Interested in the other posts about the bumper bolts etc,I will keep you posted.

Dolphinboy, thanks for the pics, that is exactly the same as my issue - coming in through that hole.

I tightened the bumper bracket bolts today so I'll see how it goes - i think it must be coming in through these brackets as there doesn't appear to be any other area for water to get in.

My rear boot seal doesn't look too healthy so I think I'll replace it but don't think its the culprit.

Will let you know how I get on - please keep us updated on your progress with finding the leak Thumbs Up Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....
