Ok, getting my EGR blanking kit done next Friday. I'll do my best to get an idea of process as I am not doing the work. I'll also feedback on any diffference to economy and performance of my tractor Very Happy FFRR TD6 HSE

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Buckingham Blue

Post vacuum pipe blocking update - after a 1400 mile jaunt in the last couple of weeks (largely at 130kph) the fuel computer showed a steady 26.5mpg (was 24.5 previously) on my TD6 - but I still haven't had time to strip out and clean the EGR (one day ...)

apparently the freelander td4 egr bypass kit is the same as the fullfat td6 so there's a possibility you might find it cheaper.....

I bought the top one, but the bottom one looks like it has a place for the vacuum hose to be fitted.

On mine you have to 'bung it'

the allisports one looks really good and well made but has a price premium....the bottom one of my pics looks to have a better weld around the base i think..

I bought one from Allisport. It's a really nice looking piece of kit, which is a bit of a shame, because when it's fitted it's hidden. They don't seem to list one now for the TD6, but the picture of the TD4 version on the website looks identical to mine.
Fitting was reasonably simple, but a) you do need an allen key (No.5 IIRC)on a short 3/8 socket extension to deal with the bottom 2 of the 4 fixing studs, b)you need to be confident and firm when removing the metal clamp on the side and c) wear latex gloves and a disposable long sleeved shirt when doing the job. The black crud from the old valve seems to get everywhere.
There seems to be an improvement to fuel economy (early days though), but best of all, if I put the shoe down at night, I no longer lose the headlights behind in a cloud of smoke and the car seems more lively. Smile

I don't understand the need to buy a kit.
Remove the valve, clean it out, check that it is closed to the exhaust inlet, refit it.
Don't reconnect the vacuum pipe but plug the end of it.
Job done, nil cost. But if you want to spend money on shiny bits....... Very Happy Rolling Eyes

the difference by leaving the existing valve in place is the air restriction..the bypass kits are straight through so loads of nice cold air gets to the engine..

Won't make a blind bit of difference imo Smile
You'd actually get a greater benefit taking the inter-cooler out and cleaning the inside and outside throughly. That will increase the air mass flow into the engine.
