I've spoken to the P.A. of the owner (I got the number myself by calling some of his restaurants), and she gave me the phone number of his estate in Somerset, where I spoke to the house manager, who confirmed that the guy selling it to me, is the local mechanic who they sold it to. The guy himself probably didn't drive it as a five year old car, he has quite a few other cars, and more recent FFRR's. The latest driver was in fact the house manager who I spoke to. Oh, and the V5 did in fact arrive today, so I'll be picking that up with the car! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

I'm not sure what they mean by souped up, I think that's a little journalistic licence, this one at least seems to be bog standard, there again, maybe he only purchased it for the housekeeper! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

I looked very hard at this, it would easily turn a profit given the damage described - however when I spoke to the seller there was mention of Suspension damage and Steering Damage.

Isn't it just better to get a straight car for 15-19k.

I understand where you are coming from, but in terms of security and assurity surely he is better off going with a car that hasn't been crash damaged and isn't going to end up costing more than a straight car would. I've been involved in a lot of projects, from properties to cars to businesses and there are always unexpected costs. So in reality, what will this car cost to put right? |
