Now back in the UK, so done my due diligence. I must say this one was a bit seat of the pants, from all of the warning flags I should have been running away as quickly as possible. The guy selling the car hadn't registered it, so no V5, on top of the accident damage etc etc.

Anyway, now I've found out the full story, and it's great. The one owner from new is a billionaire who owns some very fashionable restaurants in London (name withheld for discretion/privacy reasons). They guy selling it has full authority/ rights over it and is very reliable, so the description of damage is likely to be spot on.

So now I'm really looking forward to getting it, getting it fixed up and on the road. Going to be a long wait whilst it's done!

I would be VERY CAUTIOUS indeed with no V5 and the damage. How have you verified the guy really has legal right over the car and that the "Billionaire owns it? Neutral

If I was a billionaire, I definitely wouldn't be running a 6 year old S/C with 75k on the clock, in fact most of the seriously wealthy people I know change them at least every 3 to 4 years
