Kurt probably because everyone says go to Edinburgh Castle..................... and you drove straight passed Stirling on the motorway. There is another castle about 10 miles from Stirling that was equally important and is even less well known - Doune Castle which apart from featuring heavily in history was also used in many scenes in the Monty Python movies..... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Sadly my knowledge of Scottish history is lacking. Maybe a return trip is in order. Last time I was there was, oh let me think...maybe 25 years ago.

Always wondered where the castles were in the Monty Python movies. How come the people in it had outrageous French accents then? Laughing

Funny, I thought you people deep fried everything and put your vegetables on boil the night before, but I have some Swiss friends who visited last year and they said the food was excellent.

I ought to visit as there's a lot of Scotland in my blood.

Not by inheritance you understand, more from drinking. Cool

No idea what those things are apart from Range Rovers. Smile

As for Euro's, I'm not euro zone and the Swiss franc has doubled in value compared to the £ in the past few years so Scotland is cheap to visit at the moment. How come the Whiskey hasn't got cheaper, I could drink twice as much?

Anyway, not this year - going on holiday to Croatia in a couple of weeks.

drove to the shops and bought some stuff.... passed the car wash facility and thought, well I can do it tomorrow Laughing

Now the Rangie is parked in a side road and I leave it there because here is a big festival and I wont find another parking spot near the apartement until tomorrow.

(I'm happy, when I'm back in Switzerland, there is always space for parking ) Very Happy
