Ok, so, I've been toying with the idea of possibly moving on to a Mercedes CLS, seen a couple, driven one and I've been very impressed. I was after a CLS before I bought my RR 18 months ago, but the prices were a little high still, they've came down to an affordable level for me now, so, before I take the plunge and buy a house, I'm thinking sod it, I might try a different barge while I still can. (My parents aren't getting rid of me yet!!!!

Sadly, no, I've been toying with the idea of something a bit more frugal, until the price of TDV8's come down to a level I can afford, I'm going to try a Mercedes CLS. I originally wanted one before I bought the RR but the prices were still a bit higher than my budget, now though, they're within reach. Add to the fact that realistically, next next big purchase for me should be my own house, so really, this should be my last big/expensive (for me) car purchase for some time, it's an itch that's needed scratched for a while, so my thinking is, buy one now while I have the chance before I have a mortgage and a house to worry about

I know what you mean. Make sure you get one with decent mileage (dont go for a 150k mileage thats been torn to pieces) I was going to buy one at one point, but the back windows feel too small. A great car for the money though, and they are pretty economic too mpg wise. Are you going for the 4 or 5 seater? I liked the idea of 2 seats in the back, as i think it looks prestigous. Although it limits you to carrying 3 passengers. Either way, I hope that you stick around for a while until you purchase your next FFRR, which I'm sure you will return to someday, the fact they are the best vehicle on the road.. |

I think you're right there. I'm sure i saw a 5 seater in the dealers, but it doesn't look as though they do a 5 seater, my bad. I had an E320 CDI and that was amazing, it was avantgarde and hard the sports mode which was pretty cool. I personally think the S class is the big daddy. Can pick up a decent S class, in the old style (pre 2006 I think) at a decent price. Can also pick up a decent 2006+ for around £17,000 usually with high mileage. I paid £27,500 for my Mercedes and sold it for £19,000 a year later, so lost so much money I never returned to a mercedes. But i think that some CLS are at such a good price they will never lose any more value I definitely agree with the idea about a petrol being worth nothing. Stick to diesel - usually more economic |
