Just Google 'vin insurance quote'. That should give you some companies to talk to. Doubtless, not all will do it seeing the car has a UK registration number but there should be some joy to be had somewhere. |

SORN is a bit of a law unto itself these days.

It is only turning into a Police state with regards to what they are able to do electronically and automate in order to punish normally law abiding citizens with fines and penalties for what are basically administrative errors. With the recent announcements regards AI this will only get worse. Wont be too long before AI replaces any semblance of a Police force as it is too expensive to actually catch real criminals and punish crime. What does this have to do with SORN? Nothing I suppose just venting! Rant over! _______________________________________________

I was fined for not making my RR SORN when I changed the insurance over. As it was in a garage minus an engine I didn’t think it was necessary, apparently it is

Definitely my mistake, I’ve been driving since 1980 and have never had a situation where I’ve had to make a declaration like this so it hadn’t even occurred to me.

Feel your pain but sadly the world we live in means that electronically fining people is pretty simple.

Perhaps not big brother, just another easy revenue stream. They say we’re paying the highest taxes since world war 2, throw in these ‘unofficial’ taxes and we’re probably paying more than when The Sheriff of Nottingham was doing his thing. |
