Out of interest how different does the facelift feel in comparison to the 17? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Driving position wise, they're both very similar with the only major change internally being the updated instrument panel with the second lower touch screens and redesigned door cards with the seat controls on them.

Biggest improvement I felt on a long 5hr drive home yesterday was the redesigned seats. Even without tweaking it to the exact final position I will want, the drive home was less tiring than the drive up in the 2017 although to be fair the 2017 was never difficult to drive anyway.

I like the new drivers dashboard display too and am loving the head up display. My wife has a HUD in her car but it's one of those plastic screens that pops up from the instrument binnacle and is awful so never gets used. This one has the focal point almost at the end of the bonnet which makes for much easier viewing and feels quite natural on the eyes.

The other big change was a switch from the SDV8 to the D350 engine. Initial thoughts are that the D350 feels a little bit more responsive at low speeds but I've not really been able to give it enough varied driving to confirm that. It was actually very quiet at tick over, so much so that occasionally I thought the stop/start had kicked in.

That's a lovely car, congrats. Really nice spec and looks to be in very good condition.

Interesting to hear your feedback on the seats, probably my least favourite part of my MY17. I wish I had waited an gone for the facelift car as I also fancied the P400e as my usage habits have changed.

I found my seat base to be incredibly dependant on mm perfect positioning of the base for it to not be quite tiring. Coming from an L322 I found this to be the only real negative between the two (although the bolsters on L405 are miles better!)

How is the boot space with the exec rear seating?

Thanks

I never had an issue with the MY17 seats but the new ones are an improvement.

Boot space is an interesting debate Rolling Eyes

The exec seating reduces the boot length at floor level by about 4-5" but off the floor you lose a bit more overall as the rake on the fixed seat backs projects further into the boot area than the standard seats in my MY17. AB's (and all 50 editions) came with exec seats as standard but it was a compromise I was ok with.

Also be aware that due to the bulk of the exec seat and fixed panel they don't fold as flat as the previous versions, a fact commented on by SWMBO when we collected the christmas tree earlier (although still easily accomodated a 7ft tree).

Still getting used to some of the newer bits but very happy with it Very Happy Very Happy 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Interesting to see how you get on with it, I believe deleting the exec rear seating was an option on the AB, I saw one earlier this year which was my dream spec but was too busy buying another car so I missed out.

Wouldn't be the end of the world and it certainly looks nicer in the back seats with the trick armrest, but did feel a bit of space reduction from my L322 although not a deal breaker, was annoying. Mine gets used as a tip run wagon often so I do like the space!

I shall probably hold on to mine longer and see, but always get annoyed when I see a facelift and wish I hadn't waited Very Happy
