Time permitting, we normally do both sides as matter of course

If time is an issue, we rebook and repair the other side before there is an issue, if the customer agrees

I had the same issue in my l322. It was a wiring fault /broken wire. I found a company that tested the abs module first as they are £2k As a replacement.

Reading this thread - the faults Martyn had detailed are almost exactly what I’ve got! Looks like Mikey is right about the earth connection. By any chance Martyn did your tailgate fail to open during all this?

Thanks a lot for this thread. It led me straight to the fix. I went for an easy solution by using the bracket above as the new ground point. I can confirm that only the front half of the underwing is neccessary to remove.

Checked mine today and they were all good but those black plastic clips were hard to release, so ordered some new ones,also the bottom two metal clips have rusted so need two of those. cleaned every where and put back for now.

I'd just like to thank the original poster for the excellent information. It would have taken me DAYS to figure out what was wrong, and in this case, 30min.

In my situation, I have the SDV8, so the abs module is on the drivers side. It looked in PERFECTLY good shape. Like new, well painted, and sealed. The moment I touched it with my fingers it basically broke off.

It was completely rotted inside, but completely fine on the outside.

I did the same, re-drilled new hole, M8 screw rivet, and then grounded everything. In my case since the ABS is on the drivers size, and this grounding pin not only grounds the abs, but a bunch of other things, including the headlight module? it was not just Christmas lights on the dash, but my drivers side light bulb turned off. Incase this helps anyone.
