I have Forward Alert enabled which has activated in traffic for a few seconds each time but emergency braking hasn't occurred. I don't know if this was because I've been steering around the vehicle anyway or because emergency braking doesn't operate without cruise control engaged. Emergency braking has occurred at speed while CC was engaged, albeit unnecessarily, so it is enabled.

Thank you everyone for the wealth of information in this thread. It's really invaluable.

I have a 2012 5.0 CA37**** and I'm looking to start gathering the parts for retrofit. I have a few questions and wish to consolidate some information for others in my same situation.

Have we confirmed if the late 5.0 cars need the ECU unit AH42-14B588-AA? I have read that it may not be needed.

It seems to be confirmed that while the parts catalog shows a rear ACC Radar Module for the MY12 L322, it is not needed for system operation, and may very well be a mistake. Correct?

My 2012 CA VIN will need the "thin" ACC Radar Module along with the bracket LR022947 and the connecting harness LR023028 which is applicable to the "thin" radar unit.

And because I have a CA VIN vehicle, I will only need the LH Steering Wheel Switchpack, LR057123.

I have SDD with a DA-Dongle and the IIDTool. Has anyone confirmed if it's possible to use the FoMoCo Radar Unit (with or without a firmware update) which is physically identical to the JLR versions? They seem to be a bit cheaper to come by.

Does this all sound correct?

Thank you again everyone Smile

Appreciate this and working on the same thing now. I am a BA vehicle but its BA35* so it should be the thin type sensor (which of course double the price). Did you end up getting it all working on yours?

I pulled the trigger on parts.

Slim sensor and wire on eBay BH32-9G768-AD - $360

1) Land Rover LR023197
SWITCH - STEERING WHEEL
Qty: 1
Price: USD 166.20 each

2) Land Rover LR022947
BRACKET
Qty: 1
Price: USD 231.47 each

I get the feeling from scrolling this thread several times that's might be all I need on the 11 with the higher VIN code. If anyone knows otherwise let me know.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

finally got the proper bracket and fitted

https://photos.app.goo.gl/5oUk9AYcFGnPpD8y9

am sure you can make the newer bracket work but i just paid up in end.

it calibrated very quickly this time, like within 5 miles. so unsure if it kept the old calibration data around. Its actually a sport Sad

Not anymore, 4.4 TDV8 now Very Happy

Mine has had the radar unit blocked message for a while and still shows even after removing the bumper to check that it was clean. Its been set to recalibrate but I'm not hopeful that it will, suspecting that the radar unit has failed. I'll give it a few outings before reverting to standard CC.
This was a brand new radar unit, not one that has been in use for 12 years.

Doing this piece mail as parts come in. Installed just the radar unit tonight and the wiring was there for it. Now getting a cruise control unavailable error in the car. I don't have the switch pack for the adaptive cruise control buttons yet... I'm guessing this is because the radar is installed but not coded yet? Think I could code it without the acc switches and have acc without the distance controls?

Remove the radar unit's fuse until the CCF is configured for ACC then try again while waiting for the distance switches.

I have a set of adaptive cruise buttons….. U.K. spec. I see you’re in the US. I could list them on eBay if you’re interested and ship with the international shipping facility.

Does US vs UK spec matter? I'm US LHD.

I've added all the hardware and made all the changes from the first two pages. I now have the forward collision unavailable error on start and the flashing calibration light. Not sure if that means it's calibrating or if I need to kick off the calibration?

Either way I kicked off calibration from Iidtool but not sure I did it right. Did it from ignition on engine off and engine on but neither seem to calibrate within 15 miles or so.

Any details on how to kick off the calibration and how long it should take?

Mine initially calibrated when driving slowly between 2 high steel gates.

How did you kick it off? Engine on and execute the calibration then drive?

I don't recall but your flashing indicator suggests that it just needs to see suitable reflections.

I've reverted to standard CC because mine would change from calibrating to radar unit blocked after a short while, presumably not seeing any reflections rather than reflections not appropriate for calibrating.
