The illumination is from LEDs on the circuit board under the buttons, they can be replaced but need very good soldering skills assuming you can find replacements.
The easiest if not cheapest solution is to replace the entire switch module after removing the door card.
If you can live with it, wait until enough LEDs have failed to make it worthwhile replacing the unit.

Thanks all - it's not a simple job or a cheap fix so I won't be doing it. I can't think of the last time I opened the drivers window or any window in fact at night and as Stan says its pretty obvious where the switch is if I ever need to, although I can't think when that will be Rolling with laughter Geoff

Funnily enough, my drivers switch button is exactly the same in that it’s gone out.

Too much hassle to fix for all the time I look at it. V8 or else ...

Thinking outside the box here, could it be an indication that the "one" close is activated or not on that particular switch... ... - .- -.

I ll double check but I think my one close works on all windows at the moment … I know I can one close / open the windows using the key fob and that wouldn’t happen if one close wasn’t set properly I presume. V8 or else ...
