I think it is Part Number: LR023142 but there is a good chance you cracked it when you removed the doughnut as it goes very brittle with age |

I have to say the oven cleaner appears to be the way to go with cleaning the intake.

How long did the oven cleaner/cleaning part take? And what did you do with the mess after |

Okay so I have used nearly 3 tins of oven cleaner. I’ve probably done 6-8 applications over a couple of days. Gave a good coat, leave for 30 mins to soak, then agitate for 5 mins with the radiator brush, before rinsing with a hose. Repeat..

Props to you for giving it a go, your obviously very handy. I bought my 2017 4.4 SDV8 almost 2 years ago. It had been imported from the UK by an independant dealer here in NZ and I traded my 2015 RRS SCV8 on it. Its had some of the usual problems including the oil cooler and transfer case which both have been replaced under warranty. I have also had all the fluids changed diffs, transmission etc so it has a good start in my ownership. I have enjoyed doing some minor mods - mudflaps, side steps, 20inch LR rims sparayed and now fitted with AT tyres plus other bits and pieces. It has cost a bit but I really love the car and a superb tourer. Great job with the repairs I hope it will be a fantastic car for you! 2017 L405 AB SDV8

A bit more cleaned and refitted today. Hopefully I’ll finish it in the morning. Throttle body cleaned up well.

I can’t say to be honest as I’ve only owned the car two weeks before I did the work. But I would say it runs sweet, a really nice idle etc so cleaning it out can only improve it 🤷♂️ |

I hate having to slam the bonnet shut so I ordered a new alarm switch to see if that fixes it.

This is useful! I have to slam mine and the noise is god awful, always liked the click/push to latch on my L322, thought this was a feature not a bug!

Worth a look. I’ve also noticed my bonnet is higher on the switch side of the car - the panel gap is much bigger. So perhaps the bonnet alignment needs adjustment, which will bring the loop down lower into the latch- which would make sense. |
