Australia 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black

Seems like Anderson plugs have not been taken up in The UK like in OZ. Anything to do with battery power and charging, I would be running a decent thickness cable to the rear Fusebox with a re-setting fuse. Fit the Anderson plug somewhere convenient outside the car..

Whilst I wait for the 12s very convenient connector, I fitted the ctek with the not so convenient cable to the battery… what pain in the rear. Lost socket down in the engine, spent next 30mins fishing for it..but luckily got it. And now the ctek is doing something… I think???

Here’s a photo of the ctek. It’s my first time using one , guess just sit and wait and hope the lights go up? Rolling with laughter

Yes, correct, the lights will progress up to 5, when the green battery symbol will illuminate.
You can just leave it connected.
Do you have an AGM battery? Looks like you haven’t selected AGM mode.

DON’T ever use “recon” on an AGM Battery, the voltage gets too high! Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Thanks Germlin500 for the info, appreciate it, as you can tell, I am not in anyway a mechanic lol.

I should really have the username dangerous dave Rolling with laughter

I am sorry to say this, how do I tell if I have an AGM battery? I saw it was a JLR battery on her.

I can post a photo if that would help?

Back again..

So I see the letters AGM on my battery and assumed it was ok to press mode on ctek and now AGM light is on. No idea what it does but hoping it’s doing something better than without AGM light on Laughing

Much better job than faffing around with trailer wiring.

They are used extensivly on HGV's - easy to jump start from one vehicle to another and non-reversable.

AFAIK the AA/RAC use them for jump starting off their vehicle batteries.

Another update, light is up to number 4.... I wonder how long it will take to go past 4... or, if I should expect it to go past number 4, anyone have any insights?

reading post previous... I assume it will get up to 5, just need to be patient...

Thanks again all.

Well, this is going from bad to worse Big Cry

After battery charged, thought I’d take her out for a drive, fires up a lot better. 10minutes in and stopped . Got out for about 15minutes, got back in , fires back up and then displays restricted performance, never had that before. Selected ok and drives fine, easy up to 70 and zero restricted performance… was my battery top , now a knock on effect , any ideas?

After stopping for chip shop, got back in and no warning light and drove home, again fine.

I really have no idea now what is going on. Guess will see if it comes back on next time I use it lol

You need a GAP IID Bluetooth when running an L322. It's THE most invaluable/cost saving device you can have. Its reads codes, clears codes, CCF updates, live values etc etc. Not cheap but hold their resale value extremely well! Often come up on here / sister forums for sale secondhand.

Update your signature to record what engine you have. I think you have the 3.6
An RP could be a number of things from a split hose to cracked manifold. A high pressure smoke test required.
You're in Bristol I see - Craig from Cam Tech or Steve Norman (T&S Norman) in Shepton Mallet are you go-to! Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I have hopefully updated my signature now...lets see what happens when I press send on this Laughing

Yes it is a 3.6. I have been looking a lot at the gap tool and thinking, that would be epic toy to have, but trying to justify that is hard, as I can spend the dosh on full set of wheel nuts and other things needed lol.

I will see if the triangle of doom comes back, I will take it out for a longer run.

Hopefully, my 12S connector arrives today and then I bet the socket or something else won't work or charge the battery Rolling with laughter 2009 Facelift Range Rover Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Just thought I’d post this up from the CTEK Manual in case you don’t have it, shows what is happening and how long it takes for the various stages:

Thanks Gremlin, I do have the manual as I bought it new. Yesterday, I got to the battery light number 7 before I disconnected it via the battery connectors.

12S connector arrived, plugged it in and used multi meter and nadda, nothing , nowt, dead. I have checked the 2 fuses that looks like they are to do with trailers and fuses look good, I even replaced them but still no power out of it. Guess next stage, will be to attempt to see if anybody previous to my ownership stolen the power for something else.

If anyone else got any ideas, shoot them my way, thanks all. 2009 Facelift Range Rover Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

Looking at the current state of your towing plugs I would give the pins a good clean then check each one out to see if they are actually connected. I’ve had the wires in the rear of my plugs corrode and snap and it can happen rather quickly too. ______________________________

Based on the state of those connectors, the wiring's probably just corroded away.

One of the first things I did on my 2012 was change the two 7N/7S connections for a 13-pin. So much better towing electrical system than the old-style two-plug setup. When I took the two 7-pin connections off, half the wiring was broken and they didn't look as bad as yours from that pic. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.
