@aljo - I am not sure that we need them right now, but thank you for that.

I have to believe that if the Transmission is the same and the wire colors are the same - that they would match up. I will physically have the L405 bits and pieces this weekend - BUT

I am headed to The Loveliest Village on the Plains for our annual tilt against Mississippi State - so I will be driving the Rover not futzing with the Rover. I also have a couple of Cutting boards (@JDWFolkart on instagram) I need to get out of the shop - have to pay for all this somehow! Very Happy

I may post some more pics of the L405 connectors when they come in so Phoenix can be cypherin' over them.

Honestly if you are willing to do some searching - a great pic of the L405 Center console taken apart would be super helpful.
I will take either the 'bottom' or the underside of the top. There are a million of the L494 disassembled - but I am having trouble finding the L405.

This was in a YouTube Video and it really shed light on the fact that the L494 is screwed down...

Something like that for the L405 - or the underside of the 'lid' would be great. Then we could see what kind of mounting points the spinny knob attaches to. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

Would the L494 wiring diagrams be availible on topix ? if so I dont mind paying to download the diagrams you need to help you out
Cant seem to find any relevant transmission diagrams with the tried and trusted google search Whistle

Yes, they'd be available on Topix - but from my point of view, I'm happy with the transposing of pinout, the colours match the function and LR tend to use the same wiring colours across models (Company owner dependent!).

I am not sure why I didn't think of this sooner...
There is this little known website called eBay - folks are selling these parts left and right.

Lookie what I found us!

From the front pin 1 is High left - so from the back it would be high right...

Not much in the way of hardened mounting points...

I would have to test the clearance... but I am thinking you could epoxy in some 'buttresses' to help with the torque of the shifter

I was just thinking that... it looks very different from the other one. Either they have this marked wrong - or something changed.
"Donna" is MY 2016 - if you see a specific one...

Dec 10, 2023 edit - Looking at this again. I am not sure if this is just the perspective of the camera, but to me it looks like that thing is getting wider as it nears the dash. The L494 appears to be a bit of a trapezoid - which explains how the wider subframe fits in here and not the L405 console. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

That looks like a LWB version, the extension brackets behind the stowage bin give it away.
This might help, L/H is L494, R/H is L405.

95% of the WORLD drives over here... I've done it a couple of times... but driving a stick shift with your left hand just seems... well frankly - UNAMERICAN!

'Merica!

That being said - I love your trucks...
I don't get how y'all do MPH, but buy petrol in liters etc.

I have to say - working on my truck... Base 10 Metric is a far superior system. I don't think you can find a vehicle using the Empire's fasteners anymore.
When Jeep made it's first 2WD Wrangler. They lost me. I have had a 47, 2ea 48's, '64, '88, 2010, '90XJ and 3 JGC.

That pic looks very similar to the non-sub frame pic... so really nothing to mount to down there.

I wonder if by 2017 they were starting to tool up for the eventual return of the stubby fat shifter in the 2022+

For a brief fleeting moment - I was kind of wondering if fitting the Fat Stubby wouldn't be easier - but I am approaching $500 on this little experiment so we are charging ahead! 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'

" I don't think you can find a vehicle using the Empire's fasteners anymore."

Nuclear subs still use Imperial measurements for the power plant.... apparently they'd have to re-validate the whole thing if they changed over to metric.

2017+ uses a mix of FlexRay and CAN but in an extended address architecture, that's a different depth of Hades pain...

My Russian is a little rusty - but you may be right.
Nothing down there to mount to. I emailed my parts fairy yesterday - never heard back on the L494 sub frame. Since nothing is down there - maybe it could be modified to fit...

What do you think about gluing in buttresses to help with the torque? Most of the movement will be fore/aft. I can't tip it to Sport yet so I don't know if that is just as stiff.

Lotta Jeeps... Not many Nuclear Subs, so I will take your word for it. 2006 L322 HSE LUX 4.4NA Jag V8 Buckingham Blue/Ivory - 'Col Reb'
