They certainly would Aljo if Land Rover had marketed it like that.

Not a solution but it may help - put a relay in the power feed to the ECU so it's like pulling the fuse every time you turn off the ignition. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Pulling the power from on the module doesn't make much difference on mine so not likely to help unfortunately.

I've run out of ideas again so just dealing with it at this present moment.

That sounds similar to your issue.....just thinking out loud.....

Does the Disco3 have CVD suspension??

If not then what is the common denominator between the two suspension systems

Also, how does software influence non CVD suspension..??

If it does, have you tried removing the fuse...?? Pete

It does sound similar doesn't it Pete, he's got 2/3 of my symptoms and the OP of that thread also has hard ride issues on a D4.

I dont believe any D3 has CVD (I'm 99% sure) the D4s may have it however?

That's what I'm trying to work out Pete.

I recall Landymansam fitted non CVD dampers to his 322 and it was still too hard.

That would suggest it is not a CVD system issue.

Removing the fuse or disconnecting the module on mine gives a 5-10% (10% at a push!) Improvement for a short time (1 drive cycle)

Did you try lowering the tyre pressures to see what difference it makes? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

No I haven't yet Jaygee but I will.

The lowest I've been is 30 paid but surely given its got the manufacturers homologated tyres on it then assuming all else is OK if should ride just fine at factory pressures?

Low profile tyres are a compromise between handling and comfort. Tyre compliance is the main impact absorber for road imperfections IME either in tyre pressure or sidewall stiffness. Landymansam has all terrain tyres which are also high sidewall stiffness for different reasons to low profile road tyres. I can tell a difference in ride quality on mine by just a 10% increase in tyre pressure so and dropping a sidewall ratio from 20 -21 is likley to have far greater loss of compliance than this. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Okay I think I'm understanding your logic now... your suggesting I drop the tyre pressures to 25psi as a test to imitate the difference I might see fitting 20 inch with 55 profiles?

As for Landymansam I recall he said his was harsh on the 19 wheels he had and fitting 20s with the tyres improved comfort.

I think in his case though he fitted tyres with a similar sidewall profile as what he would have had on 19s by going with a wider than stock tyre.

I agree its an easy test but as Mariana states it should be just fine with factory pressure also he has new tyres so i,m sure this won't solve anything.

What I find amazing is it seems quite a few have this problem yet no one has the answer surely someone in the UK must have a solution. overfinch modified

I feel it should ride almost as well as my original 2009 RR given the tyre sidewall profile on it is only 3mm less than my 2009.

Obviously this isn't the only factor as the 21 inch wheel is likely heavier than the 20s on the 2009 car and the suspension is double wishbone as opposed to macpherson strut. (Double wishbone should be better though!)

It'd definitely an issue and there are others with this problem, mainly 322 drivers but our own Aljo in this thread and the others I've found in various forums.

Is it worth putting the suspension into tight tolerance mode and then back to normal via IID or: -

1. Make sure the transmission is in the P position.
2. Run the engine.
3. Set the suspension to the normal height.
4. Open the drivers door.
5. Press the brake pedal 3 times (making sure that the pedal is fully
returned to the rest position before applying the next application).
6. Close the drivers door within 10 seconds of the first brake pedal application.

If this procedure has been successful the instrument cluster will emit
two soft chimes 1 second after the drivers door is closed. The
instrument cluster will then emit two soft chimes each time the
drivers door is closed to confirm that air suspension manual tight
tolerance setting mode is still active.

D E ACT I VAT I O N
7. Turn the engine off or drive the vehicle over 5 mph (8 Km/h).

The OP seems to have tried everything else! L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.
