we had a great week in france recently and i thought i would share a few pics,

first stop was omaha beach,

we then stumbled across the 'chinon classic car show' when we arrived at our hotel,

lastly we encountered a pigeon strike at 85mph, heres a still pic of a pretty well frightened bird before it hit us,

and a slowed down video/gif..pigeon comes in from the trees on the left..

so 1500 miles at an average of 39mpg, cant go wrong with that.. Wink ... - .- -.

thanks Alan.... Thumbs Up

havnt been to florida for years....shall have to go again before my times up..

@Pete...it was a very good trip considering my op in january...i didn't think i would be able to drive and walk as much as i did...
the FF ran well and the weather was great..

the pigeon did not survive and the FF was inspected at the next service area and there wasnt any damage..a hit a bit lower and the screen would have gone.... ... - .- -.

Just down the road then, except we were not there last week.

Did you make Pegasus bridge and sword & gold beach ….?

Very easy to get completely sucked in by the history…..

we were actually supposed to go to juno beach but somehow [my fault] my saved destinations on my phone/android auto sent us to omaha......juno will have to be on our next trip...

it was very surreal standing there on the beach looking out onto the water and thinking what happen there...

and of course there was the museum on the road in,

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Nice trip Stan.
Some years ago we did the Bay of the Seine from Cherbourg to Le Havre. Visited the landing beaches and stayed in Arromanches.
We also visited one of the cemeteries to pay respects. We had to split up going round as it was emotionally overwhelming seeing the numbers in their twenties and younger who never came back.

On a lighter note, some years previously we anchored inside the caissons off Arromanches for lunch at high tide. John

Yes Stan. When I retired I took it across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and back. One crew and then singlehanded from the Azores to south of England via La Coruña in Spain. John
