thanks all....it was a no brainer getting a petrol as i do low miles and the quietness of these engines is delightful..

i have to do a bit of TLC on it as i brought it 'as is' from a non-LR dealer who only had it for a week ...

as said i've put mudflaps on and it does look better [i think] and changed the sidelights to leds, xenon white colour halogens in the main and corning lights..

it got all the toys inside and i especially like the cooled seats and the lovely smooth gearbox.. ... - .- -.

Very, very nice, Stan. Thumbs Up

I know 400bhp is nice, but a supercharger mod and a few other tweaks really liven these engines up a lot.

Tiny miles aside, these aren't that expensive to run on long trips. I've just returned from Scotland in my modified S/C with a reputed 460+bhp (well over 1,000 miles) and averaged 21mpg fully loaded and driving reasonably quickly.

Enjoy the noise. Mr. Green Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

I should really think about this should I ever change the car. I don't do that many miles as I have another car for commuting, and all the miles I do are generally motorway/A road. I should also be doing less towing these days as my house renovation comes to a close.

Hmm.

with my infrequent short journeys i came up with a theory...starting a diesel in the winter gets the FBH going which uses fuel for a while, add this to the normal fuel consumption then you get low mpg, so it makes sense for me to have a petrol.. ... - .- -.

^ Me too, Stan.
I bottled it on the V8, getting an AJV8 not an SC, but with the same rational. That being said, it's doing 20 mpg just knocking about - which I'm well happy with . . .

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?
