i've been seriously considering fitting the £300 [+ £40 for DAB] integral carplay/android auto unit but i didnt want to mess with the OE dab setup..

you can use the built in speaker Alistair ,or the unit has a FM transmitter or by direct cable into the aux input..

i use the units built in speaker as its only for nav directions and i can also listen to the FF's DAB at the same time..

Just my opinion but to me that looks so naff & tacky (blocks the vents too I should imagine). |

The current range of touchscreens look so naff, fortunately for me (in what's left of my lifetime) there will still be enough vehicles around that I can drive (rather than just operate) & they will have switches & knobs rather than dangerous touchscreens.

@Alistair, since having the 'tablet' thingy i've noticed many new cars having these stick up screens [bmw etc] and you can see the logic in the maintenance side if the unit gets damaged or goes wrong. ... - .- -.

These CarPlay tablets have certainly improved and got cheaper in the last 12 months.
