Yep every 3 months for me. I guess there a few owners who ignore the app or the dash service notification.
Oil is cheap an Engine etc is not.

Is there a reg number? I would not want to be the next owner Whistle 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

My top tip to get as much old oil out as possible is;
I use a syringe and small pipe to suck out the old oil from the hole inside the oil filter housing.
It's surprising how much you can get out. Thumbs Up

If only that was easy on these cars... I need to remove the sump on mine to change the oil level sensor and have been told it is a 10-hour job involving dropping the front subframe ... Current:

Has the short wiring harness from the side of the sump been fitted? If not then fit it first to see if it cures the problem.

Nice tip Pete, as for first sign of madness CTC, we're all mad, we own FFRR's Whistle

As Kot says, oil is cheaper than engines Thumbs Up

The most expensive oil change I have ever been involved with was when a vessel I worked on had to have a new main engine bedplate ( Due to severe cracks found in the main bearing support walls ) ...so....steps taken...pump 40 tonnes of old oil ashore, pay for collection and disposal, after engine rebuild, add approx 22 tons of special flushing oil, heat and circulate this then pump flushing oil shore for disposal etc, then put in approx 40 tonnes of new oil...... Big Cry

The purpose of the short wiring harness is really a temporary fix to prevent oil seeping further into the wiring loom, rather than fix a faulty sensor. See this thread:

Merchy -interested in the cause of the cracks (retired dark side Rolling with laughter ) was it Engine related ie crankshaft alignment /overload? or Structural -poor welding or poor design lack of adequate stiffening etc. Did it have resin chocks?
Was it a new build?
Sorry for going off topic guys and gals Whistle
Maybe PM the answer Whistle Rolling with laughter 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
