Wow - I've just read all of this thread - interesting reading.

Mine had this fault, after reading this thread I decided not to bother trying to change the sensor - it was the throttle body, now all fixed and running fine, albeit still with the fault code. |

Thanks GDDR. I'll have a check at the leaks as your suggestion, but what I dont understand is the correlation between the restricted performance and the error code for the sensor and that being the only one clear to clear the fault and carry on.

having had a few boost leaks I can say they don't show up as an error. Don't know why not.
might be less boost pressure, if you are pootling about then it's not under as much pressure than with say both turbos spooled up good luck . Cheers, Greg - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 with lots of toys in Stornaway |

My restricted performance was completely random and would go back to normal when I cleared the codes, sometimes I would also have other fault codes but not always, like I say, new throttle body, new hoses and cleaning out the donut seems to have resolved it. |

Ive been having an issue like this with my own after doing the intake pipes. Think i may have broken a wire or something but ill have a better look once i get a voltage meter onto the sensor.

I know you're not getting the P040 error, however take a quick check with a multimeter of the Exhaust Gas temperature sensor on the manifold (considering the plug is right at the top of the engine and it only takes a minute)

Is that on the RHS right at the back behind the last intake pipe?

It's passenger side, right at the back of the engine block. Use that bracket as a reference point.

This is very annoying, when these places have the skill/tools and charge hourly rates we could only dream of. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

Anyone ever figure out numbering of the exhaust temp sensors? I got an error now on my euro 5 2013 L405 but the error doesn't make sense when reading live values.
