Copper slip is not recommended to be used on any alloy, add another metal to the alloy wipers and water and you will get galvanic corrosion

Same reason you don't use it on alloy brake callipers... Thumbs Up Pete

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

The arms did change over the production of the car.

The earlier cars had an aluminium piece on the spigot the arms mount to under the arm, the later cars don’t.

I changed the arms on mine last year and all the arms supersede to the newer type where you don’t need the spacer on the arm.

Ah OK thanks, mine's a facelift and looks like a single casting ie no other piece. You can really see the galvanic corrosion in the 2nd pic

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the reply, I have the arm off, courtesy of a 2 arm puller (the noise was a bit of a shock) so just need to know if thee arms changed during the production run. I somehow doubt it but just wanted to check.Cheers

Can't speak for earlier incarnations (TD6), but I can confirm that all TDV8's share the same arms. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I have managed to source a pair from ebay. I'll see how they are when they arrive but as a minimum I will have a new plastic aero part which is the bit that is broken on my current arm

I think a good clean up with a dremel with wire brush and maybe a smear of petroleum jelly will be my approach. Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey.
