Quick follow up question, the handbook says remove the battery to charge it. That will be a royal ballache or at the very least backache so can I just connect my c-tek to the jump start terminals under the bonnet.

I use the terminals, with the crocodile clips, I should get around to doing a Luxmoggy permanent solution though Thumbs Up 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

That KINGBOLEN BM580 battery tester on AliExpress is super, and for only £26 it’s almost a no-brainer, tells you exactly what’s going on in seconds, without hardly getting your hands dirty, -a “must have” for the tool box.

This probably makes it a complete no-brainer. Just ordered one and cost £18.98. It would have been £14.72 with my first AliExpress order discount but I'd messed up my address so cancelled and reordered. Hint, set up address before checkout even if using paypal. Chris

So I have disconnected the charger. I am watching the voltage of the main battery via the App. It has a reading of around 12.8v. Which is so much better than the old battery. I will fit the other battery and monitor on Friday. I am happy that I have done this.

So what's the app and the monitor you are using? I have to have it!!!! Big Cry 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

The main battery was replaced today. With the GAP Tool (Beta), the action of the main battery replacement was done.

So you got me thinking, and I used my mate Google, and found a new development with GAP tool for 2017+ cars which I didn't know about so a new thread to start Rolling with laughter 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Just looked in my C-Tek bag and found the adapter to connect to my 13pin towing socket - you think that's daft I must have bought it from this site but never used it. My memory ain't what it was Embarassed Geoff

So both new batteries are in the car, and both have a monitor on them. BTW Land Rover only monitors the main battery in my car. Due to the small space and exec seating. So I get the low battery warning when the main battery is low, but the second battery with another 70Ah is still full and ready to go, therefore the car will start.

The terminal under the bonnet reflects the main battery voltage. The values from the monitor and my multimeter are less than .05v different.

I will post photos later showing the monitors in place and their app. The extra Ctek quick connector connected straight to the main battery.

So the tester arrived today. I will play with that later. I also "had" to buy some ratcheting spanners for working on the secondary battery - I am so upset about more tools. Whistle Whistle Laughing

I also have 2 battery monitors, one on each battery. They are very handy and have been installed for around about 2 years.

What model did you go for luxmoggy? BM2? Kev

So I installed 2 BM2's in the car.
This is the software monitoring the 2 batteries. I will also add a monitor to my Mini.

So I had to monifiy the backet for the second battery

Fitted with the monitor attached. It slips under the fuse panel and won't rattle.

The main battery with the monitor and another CTek quick-fit connector. The monitor I zip-tied to the bracket and the other wires are now cleanly under the carpet.

The CTeck connector hides away. I can lift the floor and connect directly to the main battery and have the charger inside the car.

But I still haven't found any of these. M8 with a 10mm top. If someone knows where I can get them please tell me.
The guys at the garage had no idea - can only follow what the Topix say and not think out side the box and no part number listed.
