I had the same problem last year. I held the door closed and operated the central locking. That closed the latch and locked it, then reopened and everything worked after that. |

To get it fixed you need to remove the door card and with flashlight look how the cable and door handle move while you pull/release the handle. Some good weather resistant spray with straw. Take the cable off and spray it. Spray the handle moving mechanism. All back together. Mine has been good for few years now and we have weeks and months with temps constantly below 0, meaning the door will not open and you need to use passenger door to get in and out or which ever works..

Had the same thing happen to me- once it thawed I sprayed some ptfe lubricant that I had lying around as that’s all I had- I’ll see how successful it was in the morning 😂 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

Happened to me a year ago, ended up having the cable & latch kit replaced at a Dealer here in Toronto. All was fine until this morning when it occurred again (cold, wintry windy wet snap)

Typically after reading this thread last night my own passenger door wouldn’t lock over after I had opened it this morning at 5am to throw my bag on the seat… with a nice -7C on the dash that wasn’t ideal!

Dealer said it's covered for a year under warranty. so I'll wait for it to happen again, record it using my phone, and make an appointment to take it in before I go about figuring out how to disassemble part of the door to spray and grease it up when it happens again after that 😂 2012 Supercharged L322 |

Ditto for me. Decided to try it while the ignition got everything going this morning at 0545 before leaving for the gym, and whatever it is, tensioner or outside handle, the -10 weather caused it to fail. So, recorded it with my phone, emailed the dealer, got in and reached across to hold it closed and pressed the lock button in the main instrument panel to latch it, and away I went to workout.
