Pretty sure it has a smart alternator that puts out what the battery needs, not necessarily full power...

I'm not near the WM at the moment so can't check...

Yep I agree Haylands

But when my voltage monitor for months has been steady at 14.4v a flatline drop to 12.6v certainly points to an alternator failure

In morning I am aiming to do further investigation before committing to another alternator 2009 - L322 5.0 S/C Autobiography

Don’t we all just love Range Rovers !

I left vehicle over night

Just done a complete health scan - a few voltage issues

Cleared after full scan (still have my Clock Module error though )

All now perfect - lol

Will keep an eye on voltage on my monitor and look out for any further issues - we all know there will be some !

The monitor also prove fag lighter near centre console goes “dead” after locking car with remote

Likely cause

Brush pack worn particularly on first contact as it sits a lot lower

Went for a new Denso unit instead of an “unknown” rebuilt unit

I did mine whilst it was in pieces recently. Mine wasn't as bad as yours but I was only getting around 13.5v when fully loaded. Seeing as I'd removed it to do the chains I fitted a genuine Denso one at point of rebuild and it's been perfect since Smile

Hopefully yours sorts your issues out!

Thanks David

It’s alive and healthy

And even had a bonus - the previously stored “Clock Module” error has disappeared

So full health check on Launch is totally clear
