Hi mate - not had any experience with the fuel system on this vehicle (except paying through the nose to keep it drinking!)... are you sure you're barking up the right tree thinking of fuel pumps? If they were going pete tong generally, you may:

The secondary fuel pump is a common failure point on these vehicles |

Probably an idea to check connections... potentially an easy fix there. I'd be gutted if I'd changed a pump complete when there was just a loose connection/damaged cable that could be repaired. |

How much fuel is in? Pump works harder on a lower tank. If its low then this may support a worn pump theory. 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

It failed to start again so had another look, and im glad i did as its the secondary pump not cutting in, not the main pump. Its under a hatch attached to the tank and this time i just rocked this pump alone and it started spinning. Connections look fine so new one on order.

Anything before the FIP is generally low pressure so you should be just fine in the case of a fuel lift pump. |
