"special programs off message" help please

The special programs and high and low wont work anymore and car tells me "special programs off" on the dash at the start.
I had a "lost communication with ride level control module, bus signal failure, missing a message " warning on my GAP two weeks ago but the car worked normal, until now.

My GAP is giving me a lot of faults and all are due to:
message "U0132-87 lost communication with RLCM" This message pops up in a lot of ecu's (ATCM terrain response, FLM head light, TCCM transfercase, LCM light controle, etc.)

Anyone here who can help please.

Thanks in advance

A failing battery can throw a lot of faults like these. What’s the voltage after shutdown and in the morning before starting? As you are getting similar faults from other system ECU’s this is a strong indicator. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks, yes I know what a failing battery can do, this one is pretty new and the charge is around 14.5 or 15. This whole thing is really a communication fault due to the rlcm or can bus faillure, but I haven’t got a clue what to do…

i think you mean 'special programs off' Robert ???

normally its a low voltage problem but if you are confident that your battery is ok then check the turbo hoses for splits..

you can also use the 'search' on the form for more threads related to this message.. ... - .- -.

Thank you Stan,
yes you are right,"special PROGRAMS off, sorry. I have no turbo hoses Wink petrol engine 4.4
I read my way through the web and the wiki, (nothing on the wiki that I can find)

because all the faults have only one source on the GAP (NOT on the dash)
"lost communication with ride level control module - bus signal/message failure -missing a message"
I'm wondering if a new RLCM is needed, although the web sais these things go hardly ever south.

Try disconnecting the battery and doing a reset by holding the leads together for a minute or so.

First thing I would check is whether the RLCM is plugged in, clean the connector and trace the wiring that everything is ok. Perhaps also check whether the heights are calibrated correctly as it may just have thrown it out of tolerance.

Steering wheel angle reset I'd try as well.

Check the ride height sensors as well.

And if nothing obvious give it to a specialist Laughing

can you list the actual codes the "U" codes are normally ghost codes due to something else in the chain failing.
Also i know you said battery is ok but if you have a testing device hook it up after the car has been off for 30mins or so see what draw you have and the charge of the battery.
start the car and let it run until warm you should see the charge fluctuating from anywhere between 13.2 - 14.9 no need to rev the engine the smart charge will take care of it.

Battery's on these beasts are peculiar if for any reason the battery drops below 12.2v you can get warning lights, also they are very sensitive to amps you may see a good charge but are all the amps available? a dodgy cell could be the cause.

in my case it was a combination of freezing weather and an old battery voltz were good but the Amps were only at 500amps out of the rated 850. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Thank you Jayk69

I'll take a pic of the faultcodes tomorrow and post them. Battery charge is OK, just between 12.5 and 15. The battery (a varta) is not even a year old. I'll have it checked tomorrow.

I had this problem and discovered that the front tracking was way out.
Properly set up by garage and all the problems went away.

For the specialists amongs us hereby the messages in:

ATCM terrain response HSCAN 1 Fault
FLM headlight HSCAN 1 fault
TCCM transfercase HSCAN 1 fault

The fault is:
" U0132-87 (2F) Lost communication with ride level controle module-Bus signal/message failure - missing a message"

Battery just checked 12.75V charge between 12.5 and 15

checked fuses and connections ...

can someone tell me where I can find the ride level controle modul, is it on or near the compresor?

On the dash the only message I get after starting is "special programs off" and the car wont go up or down.
driving great but it worries me and I want to have the car 100%

Sorry for this subject but as a non tech with a GAP .... Laughing

Thank you all in advance and yes we still have rain and it's only 5°C
