ULEZ is £12.50 a day. I use the car on average 3 times a week so £2k per year. No discount for residents.
Insurance is £1200 as it's also insured for business use and I can't park it at home (even with full NCD and clean licence.)
That's a pretty hard hit as well.
I do about 15K miles per year and mostly M-Way which is working out at 30mpg over the last 3 months which is is one of the things I can live with.
Servicing costs are no real difference to any other car so that's not a concern either.
List of things to fix is debatable as I could just run it as is an save £3500. I also have a £1500 contingency fee for unexpected issues ( Have my suspicions about the alternator , AC compressor, suspension compressor)
If I was going to keep it for a good few years I'd expect spending a lot now to fix it would mean next years spend would be less but the insurance and ULEZ just keep accumulating....
It's not like I didn't know this when I bought it BTW or that I can't afford it. I'm just rationalising what I'm prepared to spend vs what I get from owning an L322. I totally get why the L322 is special and if I let it go it will still likley go down as the best car I've ever owned. Mine is a pretty similar experience albeit servicing was nearer £3.5k despite front suspension issues needing addressing in 2021

I have ordered a new L460 and will keep the L322 until it’s ready later this year provided no major failures - ULEZ is a pain but I think in the round the pleasures of L322 ownership outweigh the costs - had mine since Nov 2013 and it’s a Dec 2011 model and now at 105k - was 19k when I got it

£5k includes a contingency fund for the unexpected. Just getting insurance quotes and it's looking like the contingency fund will include some of that.

Well I drive into the west end pretty much every day no ulez 2007 s/c do about 25k miles a year and spend about 3k on servicing tyres etc full business use 350 quid a year had the car 9 years its well over 200k heading to 250 cheapest car I have run cost 14 k all those years and miles ago

Yep 3k for 25k miles I do the gearbox oil every 30k change tyres when they get down to 4mm and anything that seems a bit on the way out is changed before it goes wrong including paintwork as when it needs it

Nice one. Maybe SC is the way to go then. I reckon I do circa 15k a year.. Slightly concerned about fuel cost but meant to be more reliable than the 4.4 tdv8. I go round in circles!

I do 15k miles a year and the fuel cost on a 5.0SC over 4.4 was substantial enough to even outweigh the ULEZ charge. <20mpg>30mpg.
To be honest 'servicing' i.e consumable parts like tyres, brakes, fluids is not too bad compared to any other similar car. It's just the big bits that go wrong that hit hard and hence it's sensible to have a good contingency fund. Nothing big is going to go on a 4.4 unless you are very unlucky like it can on the 3.6 but at 10+ yrs old things start to fail and the bills can quickly mount up. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

When I had my 322, it didn’t need anything like that amount of fettling. A couple of arms, some pads and discs, a new airbag and strut, gearbox service, tensioner, belts, idler pulleys, top hoses, and fluids and that was about it in 4+ years, but these cars are getting older now and I suppose they will need more fettling….. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

But you haven’t spent the contingency fund of £1,500 so I’m not sure why you are including it in your calculation of running costs 🤷‍♂️.
