I am surprised that you say”rust” because the outer case and pipes are stainless steel, so I presumed that the inners would also be made of stainless steel ?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I'm currently having similar problems as you which are going on for some time now. I'm at the point where I haven't driven the car for months because I've checked everything I find on these forums. High pressure smoke test didn't show any leaks and I have a 2012 TDv8 so I have the updated hoses anyway. How did you finally get to this solution? There's no way to look 'in' to the DPF and see the honeycomb, so how did you or your garage find out? Hi, they ended up cutting it out as and looking in with a camera, just make sure if you go down the route it’s cut in the correct places or you will end up with several joints in the exhaust.
