P040D-00 Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A - circuit high - this is a common fault / sensor fail. It's a tricky to get at sensor but a lot of people seem to just run fine with it in this state. I had mine fixed but not noticed any difference. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I've done quite a bit of searching about it on here and other places. Seems to be a 13+page thread on it but can't see any definitive info. Last thing I'd want is to ignore it and find it has an adverse affect on something else down the line. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

I would get it done or you will be forever wondering, if the dealer has said he will cover costs why not, the sensor is around £150 and fitted total price around £350. It’s a simple job but a pig to do due to access. I should imagine the other two faults are related and may as simple as the exhaust valve on compressor. It may just be blocked. I sure more peeps will tell you more and even have definitely answer. |

Get the P040D done at dealers cost then at least it's been done and won't cause any potential issues if DPF ever went to red for an unrelated reason. That's my 2p anyway!

If it's just brakes and a compressor you have done well! 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Think the brake shields are about £70 and hub needs to come off, unless you cut the new one to slide it in.

Take the 50/50 and move on if these are the only things wrong with it. The dealer could insist your only other option is to return the car for a full refund as they now know there are only a few issues they could fix themselves and then sell it to another customer for more money. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Yeah, I meant 75/25 haha. The parts costs aren't too bad - the labour is £75/hour. The compressor doesn't appear to be an entirely new unit.. "KIT - COMPRESSOR OVERHAUL" and that's £414. I hear what folk say about 50/50 however, I had planned to do a complete fluid change and some other preventative work anyway which would be near the 1k mark on its own. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty' 2000 4.0 P38 HSE - 'Green Goblin' - Gone.
