It sounds very like you have moisture ingress at the rear left wheel arch which is affecting the electonic controls housed in the back left side of the boot. I had intermittent issues with radio and sat-nav for several years before opting to replace the head unit, which didn't sort the problem. The culprit turned-out to be the amplifier in the boot cavity. This was a symptom of a bigger issue which has now become visible corrosion at the rear of the wheel arch.
