United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue

Drove to my son's house to watch the grand prix, a bit of a procession so not very interesting, but the drive home brought a smile to my face, I still think the SC is an awesome car!

I also fitted dome headed Torx security screws to the rear light clusters to replace the hex ones. That was thanks to a recent post by someone (sorry I cannot now find the post), I had not known that they were so easy to steal. Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged 2006

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zermatt Silver

Drove from Wrexham, North Wales to Maesteg, near Port Talbot to pick up some brand new spares I managed to buy, more on that later. Drive was all through Wales, mostly A roads, as I had plenty of time and know the route quite well. It is also the most picturesque route. About 300 miles there and back. Some brilliant roads for driving.

The Rangie performed effortlessly, didn't miss a beat, I was 'made up like a bag of chips' I brimmed the tank prior to setting off and will do again tomorrow to work out an accurate MPG for a Td6 on a long run. At least for mine anywaY. Will post the figures later.

The weather could not have been better, sun / clouds no rain or high winds and quite warm.

Drove there non stop, all anti-Covid precautions taken during pick up of said spares then stopped on top of the Brecon Beacons on the way back to partake of my home made sarnies and open the flask of coffee.
Below are a couple of pics. What you cannot see, are the wild ponies and the buzzards, all added to the day.

Scenic shot of my Silver special. Not the best photo!, but I got the next one right. Embarassed

Brecon Beacons beauty. Looks a bit like the American mid west.

As for the spares I picked up, rear suspension part, think it was from Milner Off-road. ( Not a LR genuine part but quality is superb ) A height sensor, two ABS speed sensors, and a 'Comline' water pump, all brand spanking new and perfect. Price for all that lot £60. Plus a bit of diesel Whistle

So all round it was a brilliant day. Thumbs Up

Drove to carpet shop (wife's been nagging me for weeks) in Eastbourne and then to the Range next door but with the sole intention in my mind to burn that soot and rubbish out of those exhaust's (been told I drive too slow) on the five minute a stretch at speed on the dual carriageway not far from said shops. The roundabouts at each end weren't too busy initially, and I only dropped speed for around a minute or so, to head on back down the same carriageway. Played about with the paddles (I don't like the paddles - used to wish they weren't there) now and then - to keep the revs up past 2000 - but didn't realise D would kick in after a few seconds and you'd have to hit the paddles again to keep the revs up for soot burn. Managed 15-minutes before roundabouts began building up with traffic, and so off we went.
"Did you get lost?" the misses said... Shocked

Went to the garden centre, my idea of hell. But it meant sitting in my lovely leather seats with that lovely leathery smelll and because the sun roof was open I could hear the V8 doing it’s stuff. First drive in 3 weeks and so worth the pain of “helping” SWMBO select plants.....

Lovely weather for it so fitted a nice shiny new high level brake light on my 2011 L322 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 and with the boot trim and spoiler off I gave the area a good clean and fitted a new rear wiper arm and blade.
Then I replaced the old and leaking lower tailgate gas strut with a new one. Just got the two gas struts in the centre cubby to do and soon all the struts will have been replaced and tailgates, lids and bonnets will be going up (and down) properly.
Big shout out to this forum's search facility (and also the PowerfulUK lads' videos) both a big help when I hit a snag.
Ron Thumbs Up Bow down

England 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Went on a 320 mile road trip.

Home to Lincoln to drop off a D2 roof rack for a fellow D2BC member (love the cross bars that fit into the covered slots on the roof) then on to Doncaster to pick up an old but serviceable Engels fridge/freezer.

Then on to Rochdale to pick up a set of aftermarket mats in red and black and on to the Company Shop at Tankersley.

Fish and chips were ordered from our local chippy before we set off from Tankersley and arrived just as we'd put the shopping away.

A couple of bottles of Aspall's Premier Cru cider went well with dinner and then we flopped on the sofa, knackered!

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

Many thanks to a chap called Paul near Rochdale who let me have a set of overmats free of charge.

Having vacuumed the car out the mats were fitted. They may not be to everyone's taste but they go nicely with my red and black interior.

Then of course the rest of the car had to be cleaned!

I am never happier than when the sun is shining and I am playing with my car, so today I have started preparing it for it’s MOT later in the month.
First job, oil and filter change, . I have only done 2k miles since I last did it but , what the heck, I enjoy doing it .

Nice and dry still down the bell housing

Now I have got to find the local waste depot to get rid of 10 litres of dirty oil.

My drivers window wouldn't remember the setting to auto up, battery unplugged and touched the wires together. All good now, but the back windows won't go back up from the keyfob when locking car, they used to! Anyway it is progress. 2009 TDV8 3.6

Cleaned my MAF and MAP sensors, straight forward job. Must admit seems to be running so much better. MAP sensors were a little oily but cleaned none the less.
