Thanks for the offer Bristol is a bit far my research suggests they work on either fuel I will be bench testing anything before I fit it. I all ready have a small fuel bottle to install in the engine bay to run it .......still waiting on the Ebay breaker to get back to me iv got everything else I need for the retro fit except the fbh

Did a first class repair job for both a 1991 VW Westfalia Camper Van domestic electrics PCB and also a lighting control PCB at work that second hand was �700! Both cost �100 each approx IIRC

Thanks for the links great bit of reading....gonna take my battery out and battery tray and just make sure there isnt a fbh under there . It's easy to get confused. Iv got park heating and have set it and seen it come on and off but only blowing cold air.........now where did I read all L322 with park heating have a fbh ? I need another glass of Jura

I think that I may have to give it a miss, as checked my display screen & no timer available. Therefore although I have the wiring for a FBH. I guess there's a lot more electronics involved.
Edit:- Just read that this can be activated by diagnostic tool, so may be back on

So far I dont see much of an issue my Ebay seller has removed everything off a td6 for me that's attached to the fbh. And he has a video for me of routing all the hoses if I want it.

As it will most likley be a stand alone unit independent of the car turning it on and I want it to warm up both the engine and the hevac it should be plug and play.

My intention is to connect it inline with my lpg vaporiser hose as this time of year it doesn't like switching over in such cold temps. I have to run it a good 20 mins on petrol before it's all heated up enough to work.

It will have a 15 min timer on it so I dont forget to turn it off or flatten the battery which is new.

All the plugs are there I will check to see if any power up when the aux ventilation powers up.

Having spent last weekend under the fFNS wheel arch trying to sort mine I reckon retrofitting one of these would be an absolute ball ache and is just going to be something else to go wrong.

As mine, like so many others, pumps out clouds of stinking smoke and takes ages to actually heat the interior whilst giving the nice new battery a good hammering in the heating process I decided that the best course of action was to pull its fuse for posterity and forget about it. What sealed it for mine was that during two really cold nights we had recently it came on whilst I was driving and also whilst sitting stopped at traffic lights, much to the concern of the drivers around me with faces like and the fumes made my interior reek of diesel fumes. Not impressed!!

The problem with them is that they were designed for use in leisure vehicles where they run for hours on a timer and are thermostatically controlled to give continual warmth, not just for thirty minutes to pre heat our lovely interiors, plus in the UK we dont live in a cold enough climate for them to function as LR intended which is why the burner clogs up so badly and the unit starts to blow clouds of smoke, burns irregularly and triggers faults.

The concept was good but as so often is the case, the practical reality not so good. Current collection :

I completely get it but, having sorted the fbh on the wifes D3 it has been a god send just recently. As we can turn it on and off at will using a remote we can warm the car up a good 20 mins before we use it.

As my l322 is a v8 petrol the factory fbh was only meant to warm the interior using the on board screen to programme it my intention is to just use a remote to warm both the engine and interior. I will carry out some tests tho just to see if the car will activate it or not.

The Ebay breaker has posted everything I asked him for and more I will run it all up on the work bench to ensure it's all working as it should then plumb it into the car.

Iv had some very helpfull posts on this sent to me by others on here let's see if I can get it to work

When I took the plunge and bought my motor I was telling my wife (ahem, boasting) all about how it would be lovely and toasty warm and completely defrosted in the colder mornings, then it went and let me down and we thought it had caught fire because of all the blooming smoke the first time I activated it
