I can't see that the Bovee does anything that doesn't do, it just does it wirelessly. Potentially less audio quality over the bluetooth link too, theoretically the cabled link will have the potential to sound better.

The Bovee still needs the Land Rover to 30-pin cable.

As per the video, no reason why you can't stream music from Apple Music or Spotify with either solutions.

I've just done the searching so the rest of you don't have to. The converter is item number B003TJR2HS on Amazon. The Apple cable is item number MD824ZM/A but seems hard to find a genuine one, and the original Land Rover lead is part number LR031492, but they are megabucks so I bought a non-genuine one from fleabay. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

I just received these items, and it doesn't work. It sees the phone and that comes up on the screen, the phone charges, but it says "device error".

I did some Googling and it turns out that there is a software clash between these cars and the modern Apple software and/or the iPhone 8.

However, it seems the USB socket I use for charging that is next to the iPod socket can also be used as an input, and using a genuine Apple lead it gives the same device error.

If you have a Gap IIDtool it may be worth checking what version of the software you're running on the bluetooth module, I guess it's possible there's been an update that fixes things.

It's unusual for Apple to change their spec's to retrospectively break things, as there's so many legacy devices out there (docks etc) that will also break.

At least you now have the LR cable so you can get the Bovee/Invery :\

When you look through the reviews, despite the statistics, the only reviews are positive, with 1 which is in Italian and gives 1 star, but reading the text it also sounds positive... though I don't speak Italian

Only the iPod socket can handle the protocol. There is no way the normal USB does that.

Nothing wrong with the Bovee though. It just works. Leave it in there and let it connect for music to that and land rover Bluetooth for phone.
