United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover TDV6 Barolo Black

£859.15 for WD for core cover & core plus, i have had my l405 for 2 years and only problem i had was handbrake actuator which got sorted within 2 days all paid for by land rover extended warranty and gave me a volvo xc90 loaner through land rover assist could not fault them, but i think i would be happy to pay another £860 to WD for the piece of mind so i will have 2 different warranty policies on the car, there is nothing wrong with doing that is there? as i plan to keep it for maybe 2 more years then hopefully upgrade it to the new range rover if its out by then.

A new short engine is £4750+VAT and that's the price for Joe Public. I assume it's still LR038138 for the L405, Mike?

We've gone for a stripped engine in both cases, £64** + VAT, I believe

Our warranty claim was £9840, which included an inflated labour rate, and parts at full LR retail Whistle Laughing
And a 2 year, unlimited mile warranty

Tried to purchase WD policy just to cover the engine and they asked me if i have any other warranty on the vehicle which i said yes its land rover extended warranty but they do not cover the crank shaft issue they said sorry it would be conflict of interest we cannot sell you the policy. Censored So i either go with them knowing they cover crank shaft but may take the pi** to approve claims or keep extended land rover warranty knowing they cover everything pretty much pay out quick no drama but won’t cover my crank shaft Neutral

My suggestion to you would be to get in touch with LR about your car. The reason LR won’t cover my bill 100% is because they would deem it unfair on those who purchased AU cars so to me this means they would cover a crankshaft even though the warranty won’t?.

It would be piece of mind to get that in writing, although I think somebody has already tried this in the forum and they were unwilling to commit.

Yeah, you can’t have 2 insurance policies on 1 product. It’s called double indemnity. Same way you can’t have 2 car insurance policies.

If you bought and AUC, and it’s been services and is still under LR extended warranty, then the chances are that they will pay out. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Unfortunately not, Mapfre forgot to book an engineer for 2 weeks. Stratstone escalated it at Mapfre on Monday and they booked an engineer who inspected the engine yesterday in now awaiting the report and outcome.

Yes still in one of their cars. First they gave me a brand new XF estate and recently changed it for a nearly new Defender with 1200 miles on the clock.

I must say I’m rather impressed. I was surprised at the ride quality and smoothness although I think it’s based on the discovery so maybes I shouldn’t be so surprised. It does feel much more LR than RR which is a relief as I think the discovery sometimes feels too much like it’s trying to be a RR? The infotainment system is great and the rear view camera is a cool idea, particularly if you have a dog box in the boot!

The disco, sport, Range Rover, and defender are all on variations of the d7 JLR platform, along with a few Jags as well.

Common architecture, common parts, less spendy when building different cars. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
