Does 2nd plug empty another part in sump?

I’ve never taken the sump off To look so I don’t know For sure. However, I assume they are part of the one sump and for some reason there is a shallow divide between the main sump, which I drain using suction tube into the dipstick, and 2nd sump I drain by removing the sump plug. ______________________________

There are photos of sumps on Google but I did not really understand the inside design. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

There is a more seperate section (found a pic) , It is important to drian the second plug to help prevent sludge build up which could slowly but surely starve the turbo chargers for oil... You probably get a cup of oil out of it and it drins into a rail and goes everywhere ... either way you want to get as much as the old oil out as possible

You can always fit a couple of these in place of the original drain plugs so that you can attach a length of hose to drain rather than soaking/splashing the chassis

On Sam's 4.4, he also uses suction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-Tpdfnf3Lc However, I can't seem to find the suction port on the 3.6. Where is it? Tym (current) L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue 2008 Tonga Green (previous) L322 4.4 LPG Vogue SE 2003 If it sticks, force it. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway. |

On the 3.6 you drain it from the sump.

I saw a video of someone doing that because his sump plug was rounded. I just wondered if there was a "proper" suction port or not, which it looks like there isn't. Tym
