Australia 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Atacama Sand

Even when I’ve asked for the 2nd simp plug to be drained, the workshop didn’t do it. So I do my own now with oil suction, which is a lot cleaner and easier. Only a dribble comes out of the 2nd sump plug, when the main sump is emptied. ______________________________

Does 2nd plug empty another part in sump?
Is that not connected to whole sump?
If it is can’t we drain from 2nd plug before opening 1st? 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

I’ve never taken the sump off To look so I don’t know For sure. However, I assume they are part of the one sump and for some reason there is a shallow divide between the main sump, which I drain using suction tube into the dipstick, and 2nd sump I drain by removing the sump plug. ______________________________

There is a more seperate section (found a pic) , It is important to drian the second plug to help prevent sludge build up which could slowly but surely starve the turbo chargers for oil... You probably get a cup of oil out of it and it drins into a rail and goes everywhere ... either way you want to get as much as the old oil out as possible

You can always fit a couple of these in place of the original drain plugs so that you can attach a length of hose to drain rather than soaking/splashing the chassis

On Sam's 4.4, he also uses suction

However, I can't seem to find the suction port on the 3.6.

On the 3.6 you drain it from the sump.

make provision for what happens at 18.09 which is probably why they went for a suction extraction on the 4.4. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I saw a video of someone doing that because his sump plug was rounded. I just wondered if there was a "proper" suction port or not, which it looks like there isn't. Tym
