How long had the car been off..?? 12.6 is a fully charged battery, I bet this is dropping overnight, as you turn on the ignition, the gearbox ECU reads the voltage as low and chucks the fault up.... ?? Pete

I just charged it other day. As I said before, within a couple weeks, it will be down 50% charged. Even after long runs, it doesn't increase the charge.

Probably the battery then, it's certainly the cheapest thing to try first anyway... Thumbs Up Pete

Exactly, process of elimination. Cheapest thing first.

even cheaper is a system discharge / battery reset.

Nothing to loose before you buy a battery.

Then yes a battery would be next cheapest thing to try
. Cheers, Greg

I was getting similar readings to that, but as Haylands says it's probably losing some power overnight, and once they get weak and you turn the key its game over as the voltage drops right down.

How do you do the system reset and discharge?

It's in the WIKI, just a battery disconnection procedure, worth a try but don't hold your breath...! Pete

I think I've tried that. Taking battery leads off, then touching them together?

Also I checked new battery charge percentage it was 70%. After I fitted it, I did the battery replacement on diagnostic tool. After that I put charger back on and it was 50%. Getting a replacement tomorrow to see if its the new battery.

No fault codes came up.

Interesting - I would have expected a displayed gearbox fault message to have logged at least one DTC indicating as to why it was showing you the message - what did you read the codes with?
