I know the GAP II is highly regarded on here but to me it seems a little expensive as you need another device (such as a smartphone or laptop) to use it and you can only use it on a dedicated vehicle. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6 |

I think it will identify faults and clear them on other vehicles but you don't get the whole suite of adaptations that the registered vehicle gains. Anyone clarify/confirm that? |

Yep, you can't beat an IID tool, the customer service is second to none, any issues or problems and they will get to the bottom of it for you, that's priceless on it's own.. Pete

I've owned two - the iCarSoft LR II - around £150 from amazon - this will read codes and live values and reset service lights and clear fault codes. It will also do some more advanced functions like reset engine adaptions. Perfectly good scanner.
