LED interior upgrade

did a few weeks ago, just in time before the Covid lock down Embarassed

Pics doesn't shown exactly the final result. Dimmer function still works so, the new lighting is not annoying while driving.
I love it! Cool Cool Cool

Looks great.

I have been thinking of doing this as I hate the oem green lighting.

You need to remove a lot of trim.
Gloveboxes, dashboard top panel, doors card, etc.

you need a lot of patience and courage Laughing

Be very very carefull removing the instrument indicators.

How do you remove the instrument needles? I pulled them on my original l322 and wrecked the motors - I have the same style one as you now and need to get them off wondered if any different? Current stable:

For the earlier L322 is very very easy broke them pulling out.
In this version you can. Pull them up gently Thumbs Up

Only SMD 3.5 LED, soldering iron and patience.

You need to replace the LEDs on PCBs so, LED colour at your choice Cool

What’s the safest way? Maybe slide a fork in and gently lever out? Current stable:

If you are removing any instrument gauge needles, you should use one of these to avoid pulling the shaft away from the driving mechanism.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=instrument+panel...Puller.jpg

or you could make one if you have the means.

perhaps I should add if the needle has no hole to allow this, then the gauge may not be intended to be calibrated/repaired or disassembled. your call then on a fork!! Cheers
Richard

Hi thanks for the tips - what leds did you use as I may do mine can you get different brightness as I had white ones fitted to my old l322 and they were so bright at night but I couldn’t turn down the rheostat as you couldn’t see the green on anything else... Current stable:
