Thanks Dan here is the link to the noise. I have just had my supercharger rebuilt by powerhouse. Have a listen see what you think.

Mine sounds like a bit like that, it's got 227k miles on it so probably needs timing chains doing. I also think is has a slight misfire at idle on a cold start and I've read alot do that - Something to look into. As suggested above you should take off the supercharger belt then do a cold start and then take off the main aux belt and do the same. If the noise goes away that will tell you it's supercharger or ancilaries related rather than inside the engine. |

To me it sounds more of a plastic/polyethylene clunk type sound.

Just to fuel this fire a little more it appears the noise goes away once the engine is warm. Go figure. Makes it even harder to solve. However all my tests have been whilst stationary.

Let us know if they find anything. Going when warm suggests something warms up and gets back into tolerance, or oil gets somewhere and lubes it. |

Will do, also I have just had an oil and filter change and new oil filter housing seal. I use castrol magnatec fully synthetic 5w 30 A5. Range Rover Vogue SE 2007 L322 4.2 Supercharged 121k. Engine rebuilt @ 120666 Miles |

Did it make the noise before the oil change? |
