Jacking the L405 with side steps

L405 2015 5.0L

How can the factory jack be used to raise the car for tyre change if deploy-able side steps are in the way?

Manual says that the side steps should be in stored position before jacking up.

For a 2016, the owner's manual says it should be in deployed position.

Now if the side steps are in stored position, the factory jack points cannot be accessed. I noticed even in deployed position, it still cannot be accessed.

Did Range Rover got it wrong or is there a trick to it?

I have attached pictures of service manual and owners manual for 2015.

In 2015 it simply says that jack points will be obscured if the side steps are in stored position. Then goes on to say to use jacking point of front and rear side of the steps... what does that mean?

Your missing a trick sir...

The steps become your jacking point, hence they should be in the stow'd position before jacking underneath the hinges

you missed another trick, dont use the factory jack! get yourself a merc sprinter bottle jack..[other suitable bottle jacks can be used] ... - .- -.

Look in your owners manual and you will see the jacking point is exactly the same shape as the underside of the step hinge... That way you will know where to jack it sir...

Actually, I couldn't find it in the owners manual.

I have a 2.5 ton trolley jack. But if I jack up using that, where will I place the jack stands then?

The lowest point is the one I marked in yellow. Is that it then? But that is plastic part of deployable side step..

I'll see if a magnet sticks to it as when I touched it, knocked it, it didn't feel like metal.

I am also posting picture of the jack just in case anyone needs it for future. As this post might help someone in future.

How will trolley jack be able to work/hold the curved surface? Notice the factory jack has a slot/grove.
